XRP Ledger patches minting flaw as CFTC moves to define prediction markets
The XRP Ledger patched a decade-old overflow bug that, in a worst-case scenario, could have allowed an attacker to create about 18 trillion spendable XRP in a single transaction. Developers said the emergency fix was applied without waiting for the network’s usual two-week validator vote because delaying could have left the vulnerability exposed.
